WE’RE WORKING ON A GREENER FUTURE
The City of Penticton is making moves towards sustainability, and being environmentally responsible and respectful is a critical component of the Fuel Free…Almost campaign created by Visit Penticton, a unique way to promote responsible, sustainable travel, by visiting Penticton without fuel (almost).
Guests are encouraged to park the car once they arrive and explore fuel free, with the main focus being on exploring by foot, pedal or paddle. Venue and facilities are making their own strides in developing green meetings, and we will work with you to find environmentally respectful options.
The Penticton Community Climate Action Plan has been updated to reduce community-wide greenhouse gas emissions and energy use, and to consider actionable climate adaptation measures, providing policies and actions that provide guidance for future decision-making.
This is to ensure our community will continue to be a healthy place for future generations. Penticton brings freedom from fumes, pollution, gridlock, and parking challenges.
While getting here will require driving or flying, once your delegates have arrived it’s easy for them to drop their car keys and walk to event venues and facilities. Group bike rentals can be arranged, or attendees can book one for a sustainable afternoon of exploring. Many shuttle options are available, making transportation convenient and more affordable.
